Research Ethics Seminar

February 4, 2014

The first of our Spring 2014 Research Ethics Seminars will be led by Graham Mooney, 'Experimenting on Skid Row: Prostate Cancer, Alcohol and Homelessness'.

By the time students complete this seminar in research ethics, they should be able to:

  1. Describe the main aspects of unethical research practices on homeless, alcoholic men in New York in the mid-20th century.
  2. Explain how cultural, political, and economic contexts can shape approaches to medical research on vulnerable populations.
  3. Question common stereotypes about medical research subjects and medical researchers.

It will take place at 12:00–2:00pm on Tuesday February 4, 2014, in Room 303-305 Welch Library.

Readings will be posted early 2014.

Please email Nathaniel Comfort if you wish to register.
